A cyclist with a curious coif is being sought by SFPD after unleashing an unprovoked attack on a Muni station agent who told him he couldn't bring his bike on the subway last month. The 55-year-old station agent/assault victim told the cyclist he couldn't carry his ride through the fare gates at Van Ness Station around 7:40 p.m. on October 10th, but the cyclist ignored the order, lifted his bike over the railing and then hopped the gates himself, apparently not realizing it would take another 10-15 minutes to make his escape by train.

When the station agent followed the cyclist down the stairs to the platform, the suspect quickly turned and knocked the Muni employee down with a swift kick to the upper body. While the station agent was reeling from blows to the head, the suspect ran out of the station. On security camera footage, the suspect can been seen coming down the stairs with his bike and a suitcase. He looks a little skittish once he hits the platform, and then turns and starts to kick and punch someone off-camera:

The suspect is described as a man in his late twenties with brown hair, six feet tall, 180 pounds. According to an SFPD spokesman, the station agent has been unable to return to work since the incident, but the department hopes to find their suspect by releasing the surveillance tapes.
