Man Wanted In Connection With SF State Robberies

The young journalists at Golden Gate Xpress aren't messing around, folks. They've got the goods on some jerk suspected of robbing at least three students. They've even got a photo of him, too. Kode Alan Smith, "last seen in the area near the Cesar Chavez Center and the Bookstore," is accused of coercing money from three students on Thursday.

Kirstie Haruta of Xpress reports: "Smith, 24, is suspected in two previous robberies at UC Berkeley. The release states that the suspect targets and solicits money from international students by coercing them to obtain money from an ATM. The suspect poses as a magazine salesman or charity representative."

Each student has lost between $60 and $500. Smith reportedly has a thick east coast accent. Those who have seen the suspect should call university police immediately at 415-338-2222.
