San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera has reached a settlement with payday loan giant Money Mart to repay California consumers $7.5 million in money bilked from cash advances and such. This has been one of his pet projects, and in order to get the word out, he and his staff have put together this fun music video called "Pay Me Maybe," which they're using to spread the word about the hotline you can call to find out information about the settlement. If you used a Money Mart or Loan Mart between 2005 and 2007 you may be eligible for a repayment of anywhere from $20 to $1800.
