Daly City matriarch Vita Marcum sounds like a battle axe. During a February intervention in which she, her daughter, her son, and her son's girlfriend attempted to remove another daughter from the clutches of a drug-addict boyfriend, the crew succeeded in getting charged with multiple misdemeanor assaults.

The foursome barged into an apartment in Daly City on the night of February 22, having waited for a roommate to arrive home and open the door. Once inside, Marcum tear-gassed/pepper-sprayed the roommate and the boyfriend while her son's girlfriend "rescued' the 25-year-old daughter in a headlock. Marcum's son, Ben Oda, is charged with having punched both the men after Marcum sprayed them.

They were scheduled to appear in court yesterday, but that was delayed. They are currently all out of custody, and the daughter, who may still be with the boyfriend, has a restraining order against all of them.

It's unclear what kind of drugs the girl is/was on, but the Examiner tags the story "meth addiction." As crime reporter Mike Aldax puts it, "It wasn't the smoothest of interventions."
