The town is abuzz with the opening of this retrospective of the work of fashion designer John Paul Gaultier, opening this weekend at the De Young Museum — which we should note is becoming quite the powerhouse, nationally, when it comes to the world of costume collections and fashion-as-art shows. Perhaps you aren't a member and weren't lucky or rich enough to score a ticket to the gala opening party tonight. But nevertheless, there's a talk with Suzy Menkes and JPG tomorrow (which will also be streamed live on SFGov) from 11 a.m. to noon, and the show opens to the public tomorrow, and Castro consignment boutique Sui Generis just got a few vintage Gaultier looks for men in the store which you might want to consider wearing.
