Ex-Con and Playboy photoshop victim Lindsay Lohan may have lost her last role in the reportedly controversial Linda Lovelace biopic, but her next turn sounds like it could actually be a smarter (or at least more wholesome) career move. Today, Access Hollywood reports the former teen star will finally pick up the shattered pieces of her film career and return as Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime TV movie.
The project, titled "Liz and Dick", which will surely catch the eye on TV Guide-scanning Lifetime fans, will focus on the late Castro icon's relationship with Dick Burton. The choice for the role came down to Lohan or Michael Bay's giant robot plaything Megan Fox according to producer Larry Thompson. As Thompson explained, "It’s a very serious selection. It’s like casting for Hollywood royalty.” So, Lohan was the serious answer, obviously. There is, of course, a caveat that she will need to stay clean and out of trouble while the film shoots.
No air date on the Lifetime flick yet, but the project has been in the works for nearly a year now, so we'd expect it in late 2012/early 2013. In the meantime, Lohan's raspy voice will be back to host Saturday Night Live on March 3rd, and back in court tomorrow, February 22nd.
