It's been a fiery start to the new year both here and down in L.A., and a three-alarm fire last night on Masonic between Frederick and Waller damaged three buildings and displaced ten people. One person was taken to the hospital suffering from shortness of breath.

The fire began around 8 p.m. last night at 1357 Masonic, and it is being treated as a crime scene at the moment after reports that the initial caller who reported the fire was a "screaming woman." It is, however, standard procedure for arson investigators to be present at this stage. The fire appeared to have started toward the rear of the building, and spread to two neighboring buildings.
