Here's an item of keen interest to drivers who reside in the Haight and Sunset: The intersection of Fell and Masonic has just been equipped with new red-light cameras, the kind that will photograph you gunning the accelerator to run that next red light, should that be the sort of thing you do. This is the same corner where, due to frequent incidents involving bicyclists and cars — including this May 2010 collision which was later determined to be the cyclist's fault — the city installed the first bicycle traffic light in 2008.

This is also just a few blocks from another deadly intersection, Masonic and Turk, where German cyclist Nils Lanke was killed in August 2010.

Don't say we didn't warn you. And this goes for everyone, driving on four wheels or two: Please slow the fuck down on Masonic.
