Just after 7 p.m. on Friday a teenage girl was robbed at gunpoint and pistol-whipped by a 30-year-old thief on the 100 block of Valencia, near Market Street. When her boyfriend tried to intervene as the robber fled into a green four-door vehicle, the suspect shot at him, but missed. He took off with the girl's purse.
No one was injured by the gunshot, but they young woman was obviously injured in the attack. Police are seeking any information related to the incident, and tips are encouraged at (415) 575-4444 or by text message to TIP411.
