Mayor Lee wants Occupiers to find a private space (so we suggest a few), Mayor Quan hints at a nationwide coordinated eviction effort, and new reports surface of less-than-ideal conditions on Justin Herman Plaza: all here in our roundup of the rest of the local Occupy news.

Despite the appearance of those SFPD barriers on Justin Herman Plaza yesterday evening and fears that Mayor Lee would finally drop the raid hammer, all was quiet at the Occupy SF encampment last night. But the Mayor did drop by this morning for a brief look at the state of things. Lee appears to be playing it cool while the city watches his counterparts in the East Bay deal with their own Occupy issues.

Ultimately though, Lee still wants the Occupiers gone. As he told the Examiner this morning, he'll be meeting with members of Occupy SF Wednesday to attempt to convince them to move to private property. [SFEx]

Speaking of private property, here's a handy list of privately owned public open spaces, where occupiers could presumably camp to their heart's content. Also handy: POPOS are required to provide bathroom facilities, although there are rules to these spaces that would probably end in a prompt eviction. Still, that doesn't mean demonstrators couldn't have a go at occupying the lovely, sunlit roof of the Crocker Galleria for awhile (Or at least until it closes at sundown). Imagine the chaos when Occupiers figure out they could be lording over the Financial District desk jockeys below.

In other private space occupation news, Oakland Mayor Jean Quan spoke with the BBC about her handling of Occupy Oakland (an except of the interview can be found here). In the discussion, she finds it interesting that Occupy Wall Street lasted was located on a private park, meaning the group wasn't "infringing on the public's right to use a public park." Sure, and look what good that did them.

In the same BBC interview, Quan also admits she was on a conference call with leaders from 18 cities across the country. Lending credence to the idea that the recent crackdowns have been a coordinated effort. [TheTakeAway] [Capitoillete]

Back on Justin Herman Plaza reports of someone peeing in the donated food and an outbreak of Parvovirus among the camp dogs are (again) undermining efforts to make the plaza look like a clean, safe space. The SPCA offered free assistance to any Occupy Pups who might have been affected. The kitchen, meanwhile, got hosed down with bleach and water. [SFWeekly] [ABC7]
