On Justin Herman Plaza SFPD have shown up with metal barricades, the Examiner reports this afternoon. Predictably, the arrival of the metal fences has triggered fears of an impending raid amongst the demonstrators on the plaza who are likely already on edge after Occupy Oakland was evicted early this morning.

Nervous protesters on the plaza reportedly feared the cops would "cage [them] like animals" behind the barricades that are identical to the temporary metal fences used to line the streets during the Giants World Series Parade, etc. Meanwhile, one police officer told the crowd there would be "ample warning" before the police take any action or tear down any tents. Another Occupier reports the barricades are "being put in to place for the holidays." Presumably to separate the camp from the tourists hoping to get in an ice skating session on the other end of the plaza near Vaillancourt Fountain.

The camp Occupy SF spilled out on to Market Street over the weekend after Occupiers decided it was a good move to alleviate overcrowding and connect the larger camp with the one in front of the Federal Reserve at 101 Market. SFPD previously issued a warning to the campers to keep their tents off of Market Street, because tents outside of the plaza were violating guidelines the group and the city previously agreed upon.
