The man shot yesterday by SFPD following a Richmond district stabbing incident that left his mother dead and his father wounded has been identified as 44-year-old Peter Woo. It appears both Woo and his 50-year-old sister lived at home with their parents, and something must have set Woo off yesterday morning around 7:30 a.m. (though no motive has yet been discussed). Woo's 73-year-old mother was found gravely injured when police arrived, and his 78-year-old father was near the front door with knife wounds to his arms and hands. Police shot Woo after he came at them with knives raised. Both the younger Woo and his mother died at the hospital shortly thereafter.

This all happened at a home on the 600 block of Funston Avenue. The SFPD is having a community meeting about the incident tonight. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Richmond Recreational Center at 251 18th Ave. between California and Clement streets.
