PHOTOGRAPHY: The latest edition of 200 Yards, which is centered around Cafe Royale, opens tonight with a party co-hosted by The Tender. Check out all the interesting scenes that the artists captured within 200 yards of Post and Leavenworth. (As someone who used to live a stone's throw from the cafe, we imagine it will be an eyeful.) (8 to 11 p.m., Cafe Royale, 800 Post Street)

EROTIC: As part of its ongoing Smut Capital of America series, YBCA presents Hard Shorts, guest curated by archivist, writer and researcher of pre-1986 American hardcore cinema, Joe Rubin, and featuring short films by experimental filmmakers who explored integrating "trance-like dance between abstract explicit close-ups," distinguishing their work from ordinary stags. (7:30 p.m., Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, 701 Mission Street)

FILM: Take the ferry on over to Jack London Square for their Waterfront Flicks presentation of instant culinary classic, Ratatouille, by Emeryville's own Pixar Animations. The event includes cooking demos, trivia questions and prizes before the film. There will be grilled treats for sale by Miss Pearl's Jam House (10% of proceedings will be donated to help the hungry) and beer from New Belgium Brewery, with proceeds benefitting the East Bay Bike Coalition. (8 p.m., Jack London Square, Oakland)
