Most of you should recall the shooting outside Suede nightclub near Fisherman's Wharf back in Feb. 2010 that left three wounded and one man dead. The incident prompted a judge to order the nightclub not to reopen after they had voluntarily shuttered, and led to some rampant nightclub scapegoating in the following months, even though the incident had happened outside the club and some reports say the perpetrators had not been inside. Well, now one alleged perp, 21-year-old Keandre Davis of Richmond, has been ordered to stand trial for the incident, as the Chron and AP are reporting.
Davis was shot by an officer on the scene, but another suspect fled and remains at large. A total of 40 some rounds were shot that night, and 19-year-old Lawon Hall was killed.
Superior Court Judge Bruce Chan ordered Davis to stand trial, and he faces a maximum of 25 years to life if convicted of murder, and an additional 25 years to life if convicted of a handgun violation. He'll be arraigned July 8.
