From the Palace of Fine Arts this morning comes word of a new addition to the lagoon's swan family. According to the Examiner, Blanche and her fertile mate Blue Boy hatched a downy little cygnet named Martha on Memorial Day. Blanche, you might remember, survived the grizzly murder of her sibling Monday back in November of last year so we're happy to report she has successfully carried on the legacy of the Palace swans. Blue Boy, a young cob of two years, joined Blanche in the lagoon earlier this year along with his sister Bella. Over on KTVU2, the local channel brings us video of the majestic waterfowl.
