A man in Pacifica has admitted to selling a whole range of mounted and taxidermied wildlife on Craigslist. Apparently James Dickson, 57, thought himself to be some kind of old-timey trophy trader. According to the Examiner, his Craigslist postings offered illegal items like a mounted black bear, Kodiak bear, Siberian tiger, a black panther and a stuffed American Bald Eagle. Dickson was busted after a California Fish and Game Dept. worker noticed one of his ads and alerted the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. During a sting operation involving the sale of a $6,500 stuff polar bear to an undercover wildlife agent, Dickson also offered up the mounted black bear and an eagle while admitting the sale was illegal. The would-be fur trader will receive his sentence in July and could be serving up to 5 years in prison and $250,000 fine.
