Much to no one's surprise, President Barack Obama announced his bid for re-election in the 2012 election on Monday. "Obama formally launched his re-election campaign Monday, urging grass-roots supporters central to his first White House run to mobilize again to protect the change he's brought over the past two years" reports Associated Press. While Obama hasn't done nearly as much as one had hoped for during his brief tenure, he did manage to help erase some of the last eight years prior to his taking office. (The clumsy Bush administration, as you know, could go down as the worst eight years in modern U.S. history.)

Although Obama hasn't been able to deliver a more pristine economy, reduced war efforts, and magical unicorns from sea to shining sea, he did manage to bring out some of the worst yet most hilarious in his citizenry. The dwindling Tea Party sect, a failure of Palin philosophy and proud confusion, and the Birther movement, Barack Obama citizenship conspiracy theorists that make elderly acid-tripping hippies seems logical by comparison, are just a few groups sparked by both Obama's politics and pigmentation.

The Republican party, desperate to zeem relevant outside keep-prayer-in-school Facebook updates, were quick to criticize the news. Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, a noted anti-civil rights Republican competing for the chance to take on Obama next fall, released video, saying: "How can America win the future, when we're losing the present? In order for America to take a new direction, it's going to take a new president."
