MUSIC: "Rollicking" garage jazz quartet, Bait & Switch, featuring bassist Lisa Mezzacappa, performs original music inspired by adventurous jazz masters like Ornette Coleman, Henry Threadgill, the Art Ensemble of Chicago and Eric Dolphy, funneling "improvisational collectivity into finely honed compositions steeped in free jazz abandon, avant-Caribbean groove and garage rock attitude."

TALK: KFOG’s Peter Finch sits down with rock journalist Joel Selvin, who was the Chronicle's music critic for nearly 40 years. Selvin, who has been instrumental in putting California musicians on the map, including the Beach Boys, the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, and Metallica, to name a few, will discuss his new collection of work, Smart Ass: The Music Journalism of Joel Selvin.
