Hayes Valley / Rape: Police are in search of a man suspected of raping a woman near Octavia and Market at around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. The alleged rapist was about 22 years old with a "light complexion," weighs about 160 pounds and almost 5 feet 10 inches tall. The suspect has a tree tattoo on his left forearm and was wearing a gray button down shirt with a blue hat at the time of the rape. The victim reportedly knew her attacker. [BCN/Appeal]

Silver Terrace / Shooting: A 45-year-old man was shot in the face and mugged at around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning near Third and Palou. The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. He was able to pick a suspect, 57-year-old Charles Sullivan of San Francisco, out of a photo lineup. Sullivan has been booked on suspicion of attempted murder, robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm and other gun-related counts, police said. [Chronicle]

Nob Hill / Murder: A 65-year-old man was found dead in his Nob Hill apartment on Friday, and police say there were "obvious signs of trauma" on his body.
