FILM: Southern Exposure and The San Francisco Film Society present Cross Cuts, a screening of experimental video and film by twelve Bay Area artists, as part of the Cinema By the Bay festival.

FOOD: Celia Sack, owner of Omnivore Books, hosts The Art of Food Writing, featuring author and former New York Times Magazine food editor Amanda Hesser. Daniel Patterson, executive chef and owner of local restaurant Coi, will also be joining the conversation and preparing a tasting plate of dishes (included in ticket purchase) from Hesser's cookbook, The Essential New York Times Cookbook. All proceeds benefit free student programming at 826 Valencia.
