The ceremonial groundbreaking for the Transbay Terminal is already underway downtown, featuring Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Transportation Secretary Roy La Hood, and a slew of local politicians on stage.

SF Citizen has already put up some photos, and says that former mayor Willie Brown "knew just when to show up to make the maximum impact. His late-on-purpose Grand Entrance was made all the grander with the biggest hat I’ve seen him wearing." We'd expect nothing less.

Too bad we won't be seeing that super-tall tower until 2017ish.
