Early Saturday morning at 1:30 a.m., an 40-year-old man was beaten, robbed and stabbed several times in the torso while walking near 19th and Church streets in Dolores Park. According to The Chronicle, "Police originally said that as many as a dozen people took part in the attack, but detectives determined Sunday that some were bystanders, [Officer Samson] Chan said. He said three men, aged 17, 18 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and attempted murder."

During the wee hours of the night, Dolores Park can at times and in certain areas turn into a scene of steamy gay cruising, a hangout for gang members, and/or a homeless after-hours gathering.

Descriptions of the suspects have yet to be released. The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries. He is reportedly clinging to life.

Police urge anyone with information about the attack to call the SFPD tip line at 415-575-4444, or text tips to 'TIPS411.'

This brutal attack comes on the heels of a Mission resident who was allegedly "beaten [on] the side of the head, then dragged down the sidewalk by [the] leg" and robbed at 19th street between Valencia and Guerrero around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
