UPDATED: 2-Year-Old Concord Boy Killed In Dog Attack

A 2-year-old Concord boy died this morning after an attack by family pit bulls. BCN reports: "Investigators determined that the boy had been home with two adult family members when he walked into the garage and was attacked by the dogs, Concord police Lt. Jim Lardieri said." The boy was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Police are investigating the case.

Update: According to BCN, "The boy was at home with his grandmother, his uncle and his 4-year-old brother at the time, [with] two pit bulls were in the yard and three others were in the garage." The family's five dogs have been seized by the Contra Costa County Animal Services Department. No further injuries were reported at the Concord Boulevard home.
