The Mehserle jury is in recess now until 9 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday. The day was cut short after a juror had to go to a doctor's appointment this afternoon. The jury, according to SFGate, "deliberated for less than three hours - from just after 9 a.m. to about 11:45 a.m."

Another juror had vacations plans, so he was replaced by one of the three remaining alternates.

In related verdict anticipation news, SFPD Chief George Gascon, KGO reports, announced that all SF police officers are "on standby ready, even though the city has never had any violent protesting over the Mehselre-Grant shooting." Also, so that people can express their feelings, San Francisco and Oakland will open "community engagement centers" soon after the verdict reading.
