SF Appeal breaks the news that James Pimentel, executive editor of the SF Examiner, resigned last Friday. Staffers confirm that "several factors" led to his sudden departure.
Eve Batey of SF Appeal notes, "We've confirmed that Pimentel has departed SF Examiner for good, and will not be assisting in any transition to his as-yet-unnamed successor." Which, uh oh. Sounds like things did not end well. But for now, that's speculation.
Pimentel worked as the sports editor and managing editor before taking the executive editor position back in 2006. Read more about his resignation.
