After leaving an infant alone inside a parked car in the Historic Tenderloin District, a woman (claiming to be the baby's mother) was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment last night. At the corner of Ellis and Hyde (a notoriously rank crime magnet) at around 9:30 p.m., "[o]fficers found the child alone in a locked vehicle and searched for the owner of the vehicle for about 15 minutes," CBS 5/BCN reports. "Firefighters also responded and, with clearance from police, broke the window to access the infant." The baby wasn't injured.
