For those of us born in the post-baby boomer age, a chance to check out the pre-1970 moving pictures on the big screen is all too rare. And like a well-worn Chanel suit, it's abundantly clear that certain auteurs will never go out of style. This week offers yet another excellent excuse to head to the Castro Theatre, where they'll be screening 13 of Alfred Hitchcock classics from December 16 - 23. What's more, they're calling it "Hitch for the Holidays." Which is adorable.

With most show dates including double features, "Hitch For the Holidays" will screen Strangers on a Train (1951), The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956), Vertigo (1958), Rebecca (1940), The Birds (1963), and Psycho (1960), among others. And for the wallet-conscious, $10 a double feature ain't such a bad deal. (Note: Vertigo will be shown as a single-feature.)
