Pick your poison -- it's either flyering for Gavin Newsom or going to the Progressive Convention this afternoon. If politics isn't your game, here's some other options for today and tonight:
--Bring a radio and come to a Southern Exposure artists' walking/radio broadcast narrative tour of 20th Street between Mission and Valencia with Gilbert Guerrero and Kathleen Quillian. Noon, meet at Mission and 25th.
--It's the Berkeley World Music Weekend -- today's lineup has Parisian cafe music, Congolese dance music, and 1930s Tex-Mex, among many others. All afternoon and evening, at various venues around town.
--You should show up at El Rio before 4:30 if you want to make sure to get in for the Dyke March Fundraiser event. Bands, raffle, BBQ, and a hot date auction -- what more could you want? Event goes from 2-9 p.m., $10 (but you can give more if you want), and El Rio's at 3158 Mish (near Cesar Chavez).
--At Mezzanine, friends of SFist Jon are throwing the ninth annual Chillin' event, featuring fashion, art, films, and DJs. 8 p.m, $6, 444 Jessie St. (near Mission and 5th).
--Counting down the days until July 21 and the new Harry Potter book? The founder and webmaster of MuggleNet.com are holding a Harry Potter Speculation event at Cody's 4th Street for their book, "What Will Happen in Harry Potter 7." 7 p.m. at Cody's 4th Street, Platform 9 3/4 (which can be accessed at 1730 Fourth Street in Berkeley).
