The Women's Film Fest has put together an eclectic group of movie screenings, running from April 11 through Sunday the 15th, and organized into intriguing categories like LGBTQ short film (honoring Guinevere Turner from and screening not only Breedlove's movie but also comedies about the lesbian dating scene and documentaries about gay marriage/Gavin Newsom, among many others), short films by young women, documentaries (both long and short, and including Jerry Garcia's widow's movie about the food industry), women animators (children's movies), and -- hey, Eve! -- women-directed horror/sci fi shorts!!! (in El Cerrito, though -- everything else is screening in various theaters throughout San Francisco.)
Closing night will feature Penelope Spheeris (you know, of Wayne's World and The Decline and Fall of Western Civilizations 1-3), and a screening of her 1983 movie Suburbia. Should be a fun time -- though we'll be standing at the exact opposite end of the room from Ms. Breedlove at all times! Get your tickets now.
