We would dismiss this as the usual Malkin-craziness, but she just might be onto something here. YouTube didn't really say why her video was banned and other YouTubers who are part of the conservative YouTube group are saying some of their stuff has been banned too. All of this would be one thing but apparently, putting videos of attacks on American soldiers, among other things, are all over the place. She's got such a point, in fact, that she's getting support from someone at Daily Kos.
So what's going on? Is YouTube really a Chomsky-ite cabal looking to subvert the American way of life through web cam videos and bootlegged videos of TV shows? Probably not. The thing is that YouTube bans stuff but only if something is deemed offensive by users. Malkin's video (which can be seen at one of the above links), a montage of frenzied Islamic mobs protesting and victims of acts of terrorism, can be considered offensive in the same way the opera showing Mohammed could be considered offensive. You know, in a "we're all for freedom of speech but not when we could get killed for it" kind of way. As for the Jihadi stuff, the people putting them up there have gotten pretty good at hiding them on YouTube so the usual people who could find something like this can't. All of which means that right now, their geeks are better than our geeks. Or maybe it's just because our geeks are spending too much time watching the Numa Numa girl.
Either way, it'll be Google's problem soon enough.
