We suspect that this may be related to the Indiefest's recent announcement that they're currently holding a Design-Our-New-Logo Contest in the hopes of replacing the old, somewhat worn, clearly mentally unstable one. According to a post on tribe.net (which, to our horror, is rapidly becoming the new craigslist), the logo should look good on "letterhead, posters, website, T-Shirts and any other creative use we decide is appropriate...in black and white and color." In addition, SFist suggests that entrants attempt to incorporate obscene phallic imagery, although we probably didn't even need to ask.

Acceptable submissions will be sent out to folks on the Indiefest mailing list, and a democratic (which we all know means "probably rigged") vote will be held. Winner gets prestige, a free festival pass, a hardy handshake, and the knowledge that he/she was responsible for sending the old logo plummeting to its death.
