SFist loves animals. Cats, dogs, fish, monkeys in pants. You name it, we love them. Part of what we love so much about them is the love they can give back to us. Yes, even the fish.

PAWS: Pets Are Wonderful Support helps people with HIV/AIDS and other disabilities keep their pets when they might otherwise be in danger of having to give them up. If you've ever been really sick and had your cat come cuddle with you while you're sad, mopey and feverish, you know a little bit how much this can mean to someone with a chronic illness.

They offer plenty of ways to donate - you can't beat those options. Money is always great and you can donate at Petco this month, but they also have a specific wish list of things like food and toys. SFist already spoils all our cat and dog nieces and nephews (What? That's not weird at all) with lots of little mice and balls and rawhide things to chew on. Just pick up a few more and drop them off at PAWS! Even better, right now they really need canned cat food. Yes, it makes the cat's breath super stinky but it's yummy. We think.
