It'll be cold. The crowds will be horrendous. No one's gonna give you any candy anyway. Why bother stepping outside on Halloween? Be one of those creepy people that stays home and turns out all the lights in an attempt to avoid trick-or-treaters. That is, after you've rented a few movies that prove just how scary the City can be.

Don't think for a minute that the narrow channel of the Golden Gate is going to do anything to keep out scary sea creatures. 1955's It Came From Beneath the Sea! proves that even San Francisco is not impervious to the terrors of a giant octopus, even if that octopus is
missing a few tentacles.

1994's Interview With the Vampire offers a glimpse into the seedy vampiric underbelly of Market Street. At least for a few minutes at the begining and end of the film. While we kind of think the movie sucked (Yeah! We said it!) we have to admit Tom Cruise wasn't as bad as everyone thought he was going to be. Too bad more of it wasn't shot here.
