Being able to afford vinyl records is one of the things that keeps SFist coming in to work every day instead of laying on the couch and scratching inappropriate places. There's nothing like slowly shuffling through hundreds of albums, looking for old stuff you don't own and new stuff you haven't heard. And the feeling you get when you grab a hot single on vinyl before the album hits stores, or find some dusty classic 45 at the flea-market - it's like winning at the roulette wheel!
Which is why we love Oakland-based Oliver Wang, AKA DJ O-Dub, who not only does the digging for you, he posts the tracks to his blog along with reviews. With a taste for hip-hop and funk, O-Dub brings it daily. More and more folks seem to be music blogging these days, generally emphasizing independent artists and obscure classics - the kind of stuff they don't have at the iTunes music store, and can be hard to find on the peer-to-peer networks.
