A two-car crash Monday morning sent an SUV flying backwards into the front entrance of Jolene's, the seven-year-old queer bar at Harrison and 16th.
The crash happened shortly before 8 am, as Mission Local reports, at the intersection of Harrison and 16th streets. It appears that a pickup truck and an SUV collided with one another, and the SUV was sent hurtling backwards into the entry gates and front door of Jolene's.
The female driver of the SUV was reportedly injured and was taken away on a stretcher while the male driver of the pickup "appeared unharmed," per Mission Local.

The front door of the bar and nightclub appeared to suffer some damage, and owner Jolene Linsangan told Mission Local that she estimates the repairs will cost around $10,000. Saying that she would likely have to cover the cost, at least up front, Linsangan added to Mission Local, "I’m barely surviving over here."
Linsangan launched a fundraiser today selling $20 tickets that are redeemable at any future event with a cover of $20 or less. "While we wait for insurance funds to come through, we’re asking our community for a little extra support to help us get a new gate installed and make the necessary repairs," she writes.
Jolene's opened in early 2019 as a new lesbian-friendly club space, becoming the new home of popular women's club night U-Haul. The bar is now open three nights a week, Thursday to Saturday.
Linsangan told Mission Local that she plans to have the place open as usual on Thursday.
