  • Still learning from the July 4th debacle, SF transit officials are designating geofenced restrictions on where Waymos can travel this weekend during Fleet Week festivities. No Waymo pickups or drop-off will be permitted north of Lombard Street in the Marina, or north of Francisco Street near the Wharf, and much of the Embarcadero will be off-limits too (see map above).   • The California Nurses Association announced an arbitration agreement with Kaiser, following a grievance filed in 2024, that will mean over 1,000 nurses will be getting back pay they are owed due to a payroll system error. [Chronicle]
  • A 20-year-old woman was killed on Highway 4 in Antioch early Sunday after apparently dropping something — possibly a phone? — out of the passenger-side window of a vehicle and then trying to retrieve it from the roadway. [KRON4]
  • Police are still seeking a hit-and-run driver who killed a pedestrian in a crosswalk at 17th Street and Lakeside Drive in Oakland early Saturday morning. [KRON4]
  • Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed Senate Bill 872, the Delta Levees and Canal Subsidence Fund, which he said was redundant given that the state has already budgeted more than $170 million for repairing levees and canals in the Delta this year and this fund was redundant. [KPIX]
  • Cases of enterovirus D68, or EV-D68, which last spiked locally in April 2025 and which can cause polio-like symptoms in small children, are on the rise in the North Bay, San Francisco, and Palo Alto, according to wastewater monitoring. [SFGate]
  • Celebrities have been coming out to catch the Golden State Valkyries' playoff run, including Ali Wong, George Lucas, E-40, and singer Kehlani. [Chronicle]
