A Morgan Hill man reportedly walked into San Jose's Good Samaritan Hospital on Saturday morning and announced that he had killed his wife, who was in a car outside.

The situation unfolded at around 9:20 am on Saturday, October 3. According to the Morgan Hill Police Department, in a release, 37-year-old Roy Anthony Lopez walked into the emergency room at Good Samaritan Hospital and told staff "that he had killed his wife."

Hospital staffers then went to his car, which was parked outside, and found a gravely injured woman, who would soon succumb to her injuries. The nature of the woman's injuries was not revealed by police, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

San Jose police officers briefly detained Lopez at the hospital until Morgan Hill police could arrive and arrest him. Lopez was questioned and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on one count of murder.

Police then proceeded to the couple's home on the 1100 block of Vintage Lane in Morgan Hill where they found three children, ages 14, 6, and 3.

The children were safely taken to the Morgan Hill Police Department before being released into the custody of the Santa Clara County Department of Family and Children’s Services.

"The Morgan Hill Police Department extends its heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time," the department said in a statement.
