Moviegoers in West San Jose got a scare that wasn't on the screen Saturday night when a group of police officers, including one with a large gun with a light on the end of it, stormed into a theater and stopped the show.

This happened during a Saturday night screening of the film of Primetime, starring Robert Pattinson, at the AMC Saratoga 14 cinema in West San Jose. As NBC Bay Area reports, San Jose police had received a report of a suspect with a gun in Theater Number 13, and they arrived, guns blazing, to stop the show and escort a suspect out.

One officer can be heard on the video below, shot by moviegoer Lauren and obtained by KRON4, "Sorry to interrupt. Put your hands up real quick, both hands. Stand up."

The officers were apparently seeking a suspect with "long red hair," but the man they detained was not found to have a gun anywhere on or near his person.

A witness tells KRON4 that the suspect was questioned and then released.

Lauren tells NBC Bay Area that she and her friend were scared by the situation. "The lights turned on and then the volume lowered. The police stormed in. There were six cops. One of them was pointing a huge gun at the back of the room and they told the guy in the back right to stand up and put his hands above his head," she says.

It's unclear how long the movie was paused for, and how many people stayed behind to finish watching it.

Lauren said she and her friend left after being shaken up by the situation. Moviegoer Aditya Gupta tells NBC Bay Area that he also left the theater.
