A blaze broke out at CaliBunga Water Park on Saturday afternoon after a pickup truck crashed into one of the property's fences, resulting in a brush fire that consumed a nearby water slide. The San Jose Fire Department's Arson Unit has been asked to investigate.

As ABC7 reports, the fire was first reported around 4:45pm.

San Jose firefighters classified the blaze as a tier one vegetation fire. They further stated that the resulting flames torched an adjacent water slide as well as a shed containing chemicals before it was eventually contained.

Formerly known as Raging Waters, San Jose's CaliBunga Water Park was already temporarily closed when the crash occurred — a fortunate circumstance resulting from ongoing redesigns to Lake Cunningham Regional Park.

Authorities state that pickup truck crashed into a fence along the northwest corner of the park, creating a fire that quickly spread. As a result of the blaze, the storage shed reportedly suffered extensive damage.

On a positive note, the San Jose Fire Department states that no chemicals were released as a result of the fire.

Video footage shared by ABC7 shows a waterslide at CaliBunga Water Park immersed in flames:

San Jose Fire Department's Arson Unit is currently investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
