  • It's gonna be a hot weekend. A heat advisory has been issued for much of the Bay Area this weekend, from 11 am Saturday to 10 pm Sunday, and this time it includes most of San Francisco; still, Accuweather has the city seeing a high of 81 tomorrow, so not too bad. [KPIX]
  • The Tenderloin Community Benefits District (CBD) has completed the purchase of a building at Turk and Leavenworth that has been home to a string of shady corner stores, and the CBD will be transforming the property into its new headquarters. [Chronicle]
  • Those electrical vault fires in downtown San Francisco Thursday morning that shut down Front Street, combined with two early morning crashes on the San Mateo Bridge, created a traffic nightmare on the Bay Bridge. [KTVU]
  • Jay Clayton, Trump's director of national intelligence, is now being given the second title of "AI Czar," though it's not clear what duties this will entail since Trump doesn't want to regulate AI. [New York Times]
  • In a clip-heavy video announcement, David Ellison revealed today that the new name for what will be the parent company of Paramount, Warner Bros., HBO, CNN, and CBS will be, simply, Skydance. [EllisonSkydance/X]
  • After an FTC suit found that Amazon deceptively enrolled customers in Prime, Amazon has been ordered to pay refunds to customers who used up to 20 Prime benefits between June 2019 and June 2025, and the payments, between $51 and $200, are being sent automatically. [KPIX]
