SF Giants Fan Gets Roasted For Sitting In Stands While Partner Carries Baby, Plates of Food

A segment from Tuesday night’s SF Giants broadcast at Oracle Park went viral when the broadcasters began poking fun at a guy relaxing in the stands while a woman who appeared to be his partner carried a baby and multiple plates of food.

The woman, who had a toddler strapped to her chest in a front carrier, was returning to her seat during the Giants’ game against the Minnesota Twins at Oracle Park Tuesday, carrying three containers of food and a backpack when the broadcasters noticed the situation, as the Spun reports.

The video shows the woman maneuvering back into the middle of the row, while the man stared at his phone, appearing oblivious to her return until the very last minute. The couple next to the woman also appeared to give him a subtle sideways glance.

Giants broadcasters Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow immediately noticed the scene and started joking about the apparent lack of assistance, calling the woman “Mom of the Year.”

“If there's ever a true definition of a multitasking mother, that is the deal right there,” Krukow said.

Kuiper, who announced earlier this week he’s being treated for throat cancer, then wondered aloud whether he had heard the man ask, “Did you forget something?” The broadcasters joked that perhaps he was checking whether she had remembered the ketchup, while noting she'll probably be the last to eat.

The camera later returned to the couple, and sure enough, the man was already eating while the woman was still trying to remove her backpack with her toddler still strapped in front.

A clip of the exchange was posted to X, where it quickly drew millions of views and prompted a flood of commentary.

Some commenters pointed out that the woman may have chosen to get up with the baby and order food on her own, while others countered that he could have helped her when she returned by holding either the baby, the backpack, or the food while she got situated.

As of Thursday morning, the clip has been viewed 35 million times on X.

The scene is reminiscent of a brilliant bit by Tom the Mime at Sea World, where he routinely helps out overloaded moms by transferring the babies and gear to their empty-handed partners — while also giving the partners a good public shaming.
