Just nine months ago, right-wing SF social media personality “Raw Ricci” Wynne was arrested on pimping and pandering charges. Now his younger brother is also facing human trafficking, pimping, and pandering charges in San Francisco.

There was certainly a great deal of irony when notorious anti-SF sentiment rabble-rouser Ricci Wynne, known online as RawRicci415 to his nearly 100,000 followers, was arrested for pimping and pandering this past November, for allegedly running paid sex rings from his luxury SoMa apartment. Four months later, the feds indicted Wynne for production of child pornography. And this was especially ironic, because Wynne has billed himself as a so-called anti-crime crusader, has frequently gone on Fox News to complain about SF crime, and has hobnobbed with local elected officials who like to sell themselves as tough on crime.  

Shortly after that November pimping arrest, the Chronicle ran an article in which Wynne’s brother Gage Wynne was quoted as saying, “It's clear as day... there's nothing in this case involving any minor being sex trafficked." A similar SF Standard article the next day noted that Gage Wynne confronted their photographer and reporter, saying, “I’m definitely not going to say anything to you, because you guys clearly have it in for my brother. You heard what the judge said? This case has nothing to do with anyone underage. You guys need to do better.”  

Well, this Gage Wynne fellow is back in the news, and this time he’s in the headlines. The Chronicle reports that the younger Gage Wynne was also arrested on pimping charges, as well as human trafficking charges.

There is not a ton of detail about the charges in DA Brooke Jenkins’s press release. “San Francisco Police identified numerous sex work advertisements in San Francisco and across the Bay Area, allegedly controlled by Mr. Wynne,” the release says. “Before San Francisco Police began investigating Mr. Wynne, he had been arrested by South San Francisco Police following an operation to rescue human trafficking victims. Allegedly, he was identified as the ‘boyfriend’ of a victim whom he allegedly drove to a hotel to engage in sex work.”

That release also adds that "The District Attorney’s Office will move to have Mr. Wynne detained pending trial because of the public safety risk he poses." Though as of press time for this post on Monday afternoon, Wynne’s SF County Jail info shows he was apparently granted $500,000 bail, though is still in custody at SF County Jail. So he was likely granted bond by a judge against the DA’s wishes.

There is no immediate, apparent connection between Ricci Wynne and Gage Wynne’s charges, though no date is listed on any incidents involving Gage Wynne, so it’s unclear if any of these allegations overlap.

Still, this is yet another puzzling example of why a now-indicted alleged sex trafficker and alleged child pornographer was able to get so close to the levers of power at SF City Hall. The above video from Ricci Wynne was from Daniel Lurie’s mayoral campaign last year, and sure, Lurie was probably taking a picture with any potential voter that posed with him around that time.

But there’s a striking familiarity to Lurie’s comments of “Thank you, Ricci, thank you.” And Wynne also describes Lurie as “the only politician that has came and walked the Tenderloin with me,” a claim which Lurie does not push back against.

Obviously no City Hall figures want anywhere near the Wynne brothers at this point, and they may think twice about getting on camera with social media figures like this in the future.
