A man who was out on bail for a different crime was arrested Monday afternoon following a pair of unprovoked attacks and an alleged robbery in San Francisco's Fort Mason Park.

Police say that a man, identified as Junaid Noon of San Francisco, committed back-to-back assaults in Fort Mason Park on Monday, beginning with an unprovoked assault on a male victim around 4:40 pm.

Noon allegedly attacked the man and stole his property, causing non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was hospitalized with those injuries.

The suspect then allegedly attacked a woman, also causing injury.

After San Francisco police arrived on the scene — U.S. Park Police also assisted with the investigation — they searched for the suspect, spotting him near Laguna and Lombard streets. Noon then allegedly fled from police on foot, leading to a brief foot chase.

It's not clear where the chase concluded, but Noon was ultimately taken into custody. Police say that he was already out on bail for another crime that was not disclosed.

"The suspect failed to comply with the officer’s orders and resisted the officers’ attempt to place him under arrest," the SFPD says in a release.

Noon now faces potential charges of aggravated mayhem, two counts of assault likely to produce great bodily injury, battery causing serious bodily injury, resisting arrest, robbery and committing a felony while on bail.

This remains an open investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411, starting the message with "SFPD." You may remain anonymous.
