There’s a new contest where you could win four VIP seats into Giants games from Cuervo tequila, and the Giants are also pushing commemorative jackets from their last World Series title, for about a thousand bucks.

Your San Francisco Giants are not having a particularly memorable season this year.  They’re a season-low six games below .500 coming into tonight’s tilt with the Colorado Rockies, they’re five-and-a-half games out of the final NL Wild Card spot, and there’s speculation that they’ll just dump a bunch of players before Tuesday’s trade deadline, and declare the season a wash before it’s even August.

But there are two can’t-miss distractions from poor on-field performance; alcohol and nostalgia. The famed tequila brand Cuervo is offering a chance to win four VIP tickets, and another promotion is offering limited-edition varsity jackets to commemorate the ten-year anniversary of the Giants’ last World Series title.

There is no cost to enter this Cuervo VIP Giants tickets sweepstakes, though you do have to be 21 years old or older to enter. They’re picking 13 winners on selected selected dates, and each winner gets four VIP seats, a pre-game trip to the field, and some branded Cuervo merchandise. It’s free to enter, so why not try?

Whereas the 10-year anniversary varsity jacket package commemorating the Giants 2014 championship team is anything but free. The jacket comes with your premium ticket to Giants' Saturday, August 10 home game against the Detroit Tigers. But those premium tickets start at $952.85 a pop for upper deck seats, and go all the way up to $1,401.85 for Dugout Club seats. And that’s before service fees.

These do seem like very nice jackets, and they’re limited edition, with only 200 of them being made. You’ll also get a chance to take your picture with the team’s 2014 World Series trophy at a VIP pregame reception.

But if you're the kind of person who spends $1,000 or so on event tickets, be aware that this Saturday, August 10 Giants game with the fancy jacket is also on Saturday of this year's Outside Lands. The game is at 1:05 pm. So you might be able to get to Outside Lands in time for Grace Jones and Sabrina Carpeneter, but you'd certainly miss the afternoon set by Amyl and the Sniffers.
