An adult man was fatally shot and a woman was stabbed in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood Friday.

The SFPD responded to the call on Friday afternoon around 2:30 pm. The man was found with multiple gunshot wounds, and the woman had visible stab wounds, according to KTVU.

The incident happened in the area of Sixth and Stevenson streets. Both victims were taken to a hospital for medical treatment, and the man did not survive his wounds.

The SFPD was describing the incident as a daylight brawl, as Bay Area News Group reports, with at least four people involved.

No reported arrests have been made, and police have opened investigation. No motive is known, and it's not clear if the two victims knew one another.

This was San Francisco's 19th homicide of the year. At this time last year, the city had seen 29 homicides.

The most recent homicide occurred last week, as a result of a shootout at 16th and Mission streets on July 11.

Police are asking anyone with information on the Sixth Street case to call the SFPD 24-hour tip line at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD.
