- North Beach cult-hit rectangular pizza spot Golden Boy Pizza is opening a new SF location in Parkside, at Taraval Street and 29th Avenue. The new spot will be in the former Marco Polo Italian Ice Cream at 1447 Taraval Street, and the new location is planning for a mid-March opening. [Eater SF]
- The Oakland Zoo has taken in an illegally-owned marmoset that was seized in Southern California, because neither the San Diego or Los Angeles zoos could take her. But don’t think you’re going to get to see this female marmoset whom they’ve named Estrela, because once she’s medically recovered and completed her quarantine, she’s heading to Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation in Texas. - Emeryville’s flagship location of the 90-year-old tiki bar chain Trader Vic’s, which is credited with inventing the mai tai, may face permanent closure next year. Developers are trying to build a housing development on the current site, and Trader Vic's current lease only lasts through 2025. [SFGate]
- Another batch of SF restaurants has been found in violation of the city’s Health Care Security Ordinance, including Tartine Bakery, Sweetgreen, and a series of Burger King locations, plus apparently Limón had to pay a penalty last summer too. [Chronicle]
- Once-dominant but now-beleaguered national cannabis dispensary chain MedMen abruptly closed its Emeryville and San Jose locations (though not the Cow Hollow location in SF), after the company went from a $3 billion valuation to a $0 valuation in five years. [Marijuana Business Daily]
- A rather notorious and allegedly predatory SF towing company called Auto Towing has had its operators charged with welfare fraud, and apparently one of them allegedly bought a $290,000 Lamborghini while collecting welfare. [Mission Local]
