A male suspect with a 9mm handgun apparently walked up to a group of males sitting on a sidewalk drinking early Sunday in Redwood City and shot them all.

The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday on the 400 block of Redwood Avenue, in the city's Palm Park neighborhood. As Redwood City Pulse reports via a Nixle alert from Redwood City police, the male suspect simply walked up to the victims — four adult males and one 16-year-old boy — and shot them all.

It's unclear if any words were exchanged, and police have not said whether the victims knew or recognized the suspect.

As KTVU reports, all five victims were taken to the hospital and were treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Lt. Nick Perna with the Redwood City Police Department tells the Chronicle that investigators continue "scouring through evidence," and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with pertinent information is asked to call Detective James Schneider at 650-780-7607.
