A homicide came to San Francisco's piers early Monday, as police say that a man was fatally shot in the early morning hours on Pier 5 along the Embarcadero.

The incident happened around 12:40 a.m., and the SFPD was called to the scene of a shooting near the Embarcadero.

At Pier 5, they say they found a 43-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid, but the man died at the scene.

According to an SFPD release, no arrests have been made.

This was San Francisco's eighth homicide of the year to date.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the SFPD anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with “SFPD.”
