OMG. As SFist reported in December, the fourth installment of The Matrix franchise is supposed to be shooting in San Francisco next month. But the production team seems to already be here and doing stuff in Alameda, as they previously did in 2003 when they shot The Matrix Reloaded.
NBC Bay Area was the first to spot a fan tweet earlier this week after a bearded Keanu Reeves was spotted licking an ice cream cone outside a Baskin-Robbins in Alameda. The fan posted a video of the sighting, and then went in to confirm that, yes, it was Keanu. The star then graciously posed for a photo with the fan, whom NBC Bay Area identifies as Yahoska Martinez.

ABC 7 then jumped on the news and spoke to a staffer at the Baskin-Robbins location who reported, "I think he got Pralines and Cream, that was the flavor." The employee only heard this second-hand from coworkers, however.
Martinez said the ice cream looked like vanilla, and she tells NBC Bay Area that Keanu was "super chill" about her asking for a selfie.
"He was really humble," Martinez said. "Super chill dude."
Under the working title "Project Ice Cream," the new Matrix movie is set to do some location shooting in SF in February.
Update: An SFist reader on Facebook has noted that the production team has recently been shooting in Oakland's Adams Point neighborhood, street closures and all.
