• A United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Eugene had to turn around and make an emergency landing Saturday. Passengers on United Flight 5525 heard a loud "bang" twenty minutes into the flight when flight attendants quickly informed everyone the Canadair Regional Jet CRJ-200 had to return to SFO; a large piece of sheet metal was noted as being "bent and in bad shape" by curious passengers as they exited the plane.   • An arrest was made in relation to Friday's fatal shooting in San Jose. 18-year-old Carlos Gomez is thought to be suspected in the death of a 25-year-old man found lying in the street near San Jose's Florence County, later dying from blood loss. [KTVU]
  • At yesterday’s gun buy-back in the city, at least 348 guns were turned over. When people walked up with their guns, members of United Playaz, the nonprofit who hosted the event in tandem with the SFPD, would say "hero walking" to cement their gratitude. [KRON 4]
